“Healing Our Youth to Heal Our Future”

The Wukchumni Youth Program is dedicated to “Healing Our Youth to Heal Our Future”  to maintain the cultural values of the Wukchumni People. We are preserving cultural traditions and teachings through prevention strategies. Our mission is to empower the next generation in the traditional way, as done by our ancestors before us. We envision a future where our youth stay resilient, connected to their roots, and equipped with the knowledge to make positive choices. By embracing our culture to protect and preserve our sacred places they aim to prevent challenges that they may face.

Youth Programs

  • Prevention Programs

We currently offer a weekly after school study time for K-6th graders, storytelling, cultural enrichment opportunities, Indigenous STEM, Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter programs during school breaks, and cultural camps for youth & their parents. Youth are empowered to lead activities, talking circles, and group activities to build their leadership and public speaking skills.

  • Youth Mentors
